Making A Song And Dance : A Complete-Career Collection
Description
Bill Bruford's career (Yes, Genesis, King Crimson...) mirrors the inimitable sound of his drumming. This 6-CD box set covers Bill's musical journey over the years.
CDs 1 and 2 are a collection of songs from Yes, King Crimson, UK & National Health. CDs 3 and 4 showcase Bill's compositional abilities in his solo career and his musical project "Earthworks."
The last two CDs demonstrate Bill's natural talent for writing and improvisation with a host of musicians (Roy Harper, Akira Inoue, Kazumi Watanabe, Steve Howe...). A detailed biography is included in the box set, with rare and unpublished photos.
The outer box artwork, gatefold CDs, and booklet were designed by the incredible artist and graphic designer Dave McKean.
Known for his metal snare drum, precise cymbal work, and skill with complex time signatures, the young Bruford rose to prominence in the late 1960s with Yes. The drummer completed his British art rock trilogy by briefly joining Genesis in the 1970s and spending a quarter of a century with King Crimson until the late 1990s. Between King Crimson dates, Bruford led a dazzling eponymous jazz fusion solo band from 1978 to 1980.
CD1 and CD2: Collaborations with Yes, King Crimson, UK, National Health, and Anderson, Bruford, Wakeman & Howe (21 tracks).
---
CD3 and CD4: His work as a lead artist (24 tracks).
---
CD5 and CD6: His work with Roy Harper, Chris Squire, Annette Peacock, Al Di Meola, Steve Howe, Buddy Rich Project, Kazumi Watanabe, etc. (26 tracks).
