Discipline Through Sound 25

Description

Discipline Through Sound 25 is the new album by Big'n, the cult noise-rock band formed in Chicago in 1990. At that time, the band consisted of vocalist William Akins, guitarist Todd Johnson, bassist Mike Chartrand, and drummer Brian Wnukowski. DTS 25 is an expanded re-release that was originally scheduled for 2021 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the release of Discipline Through Sound (an album originally released in 1996 on the German label Gasoline Boost), but was delayed due to a PVC shortage and the Covid-19 pandemic. DTS 25 is a deluxe double gatefold vinyl edition. The first disc contains a remastered version of the band's undeniable masterpiece, recorded by Steve Albini: Discipline Through Sound. The second disc contains album demos, tracks originally released on a split CD with OXES available for the first time on vinyl, as well as two unreleased tracks. It comes with an impressive 12-page booklet containing vintage photographs, a foreword by Steve Albini, and texts written by close collaborators and friends of the band. The whole package is sealed in aluminum packaging, a trademark of the Computer Students label.
