Combining Turkish and Kurdish sounds, hypnotic synthesizers, and formidable disco and dance grooves, Anselme, Hakan, Milan, and Benjamin celebrate friendship and the cultural crossroads that is the vibrant Phocaean city through music. Drawing from the melancholy of Anatolian music, the energy of disco and dance, and a certain Marseillaise fervor, Biensüre emerges in the musical landscape as a breath of fresh air, optimism, and sharing. Biensüre's music, inspired by the personal stories of its singer Hakan Toprak, speaks of impossible loves, friendship, and exile. It carries an almost palpable humanity, touching the heart and awakening the soul, like a salvific impulse. Their first release, a 7-track eponymous mini-album, is out on the highly regarded Wewantsounds label.
