Fi

Description

Reissue: Bibio is reissuing two of his landmark albums, Fi (2005) and Ambivalence Avenue (2009). Both represent turning points in his life. His approach at the time for Fi was to try to create compositions with multiple layers of guitars, inspired by Steve Reich's 'Electric Counterpoint', but the lack of professional recording equipment (or know-how) led to that lo-fi sound. Ambivalence Avenue marks a new stage that he considers another debut album because it signified the beginning of a new sound and a new era: lo-fi guitar with a more beat-focused production, fingerpicking on jazz chords, with Brazilian, folk, and hip-hop influences.
