Finally, the 5th album from the imaginary German quartet - as always via Denovali. Although the title "Systeme" suggests an album that might be a bit distant, it is the most personal and focused soundtrack created to date by Thomas Bücker from Münster in his studio "E-Smog-Playground." In 2008, the quartet was still flirting with Cyrillic and mysterious melancholy and Trakl's melancholy while drinking red wine. Fifteen years and four albums later, it seems almost cynical to continue at this stage. Because: late modernity delivers its own complex tragedies - in real time. This feeling of "Something is not right here" runs like a common thread throughout the new album. Although it still sounds popularly symphonic here and there, there are also many soundscapes that have an observational effect, almost unmasking. Microtonal changes, polyrhythmic structures, tempo fluctuations, and sound aesthetics torn from their context create a fragile and unpredictable foundation - as if Talk Talk, Tim Hecker, and Skrillex were making music together and questioning our tolerance for ambiguity. Typical of the Quatuor Bersarin: sparks of optimism shimmer throughout. However, sitting back and enjoying it doesn't necessarily mean working. Because it makes it exciting without getting stuck in escapism - happily.
