The 80s started at full speed for Lavilliers. Following the critical and popular success of the album 'O Gringo', the singer followed up with another popular hit the very next year with the release of 'Nuit d'amour', a dark yet playful album. While reggae still appears with the essential and fiery 'Pigalle la blanche', the artist then began a phase of his career that would be influenced by electronic and rock sounds from the US. It features one of his masterpieces, the timeless 'Night Bird', as well as tracks that connoisseurs often hear at concerts, recurring songs whose intensity transcends generations, such as 'Betty', 'Chanson Secours', and 'La malédiction du Voyageur' (one of François Bréant's most beautiful compositions).
