Lavilliers acoustique

Description

Acoustique is an album where Bernard Lavilliers revisits 15 songs from his repertoire with a new sober, calm, and refined light. An enveloping, wide, and spectral sound referencing top albums (the American sessions of Johnny Cash produced by Rick Rubin or 'Mule Variations' by Tom Waits): a setting for the singer's voice. Acoustique therefore in its conception and the use of organic, warm, and woody instruments: acoustic guitars, double bass, a minimalist drum set, piano, and harmonium essentially, with some string touches on certain tracks, glockenspiel, celesta, solina, mellotron, mandolin, or melodica for the decor. From the beginnings of the Stéphanois (St-Etienne, La grande marée) to the album Arrêts sur image (Les mains d'or), 40 years of a career are revisited with mythical tracks like Fensch Vallée, Attention fragile, Ô Gringo, or Manilla Hotel, passing through the standards Betty, Petit, Traffic, or Noir et blanc. There are also unreleased duets on Idées Noires (with Catherine Ringer), Les Barbares (with Oxmo Puccino), On the road again (with Jean-Louis Aubert), and Melody Tempo Harmony (with Faada Freddy).
