Initially scheduled for release on January 17th At the helm of a new quintet, pianist Benjamin Lackner presents a different facet of his compositional approach in ‘Spindrift’. He combines trumpeter Mathias Eick's phrasing and sound with saxophonist Mark Turner's eminently personal style, joined by bassist Linda May Han Oh and drummer Matthieu Chazarenc. Subtle echoes of fanfares give way to long lyrical and contemplative sequences throughout a program of original compositions.
