Benjamin Biolay, his two companions and faithful musicians, Nicolas Fiszman and Denis Benarrosh, come together as a trio and choose the summer of 2015 as the season of the renaissance of Charles Trenet by revisiting 12 songs of the Singing Madman. In the beginning, there is Charles Trenet. "Without him, we would all be accountants!" said Jacques Brel about him. In the brotherhood of singer-songwriters, everyone finds a bit of themselves in him. Trenet is probably the inventor of contemporary song. He was celebrated by the greatest poets of his time, Jean Cocteau, Max Jacob; he also honored them, singing Verlaine & The Soul of Poets. Trenet was a free artist in confusing times. He paid dearly for it and lived a form of exile for too long. The trio excels at bringing so much pleasure to look back at the past, the singer's repertoire, and his collection of songs: far from an academic tribute, an ode to Trenet that enlightens, offers another perspective on the artist.
