Singer-songwriter Ben Kweller, originally from San Francisco, returns with Cover The Mirrors, his seventh studio album - and perhaps his most personal work to date. Known in the late 90s as a member of the post-grunge band Radish, signed to Mercury Records and counting even Nils Lofgren among its fans, Kweller has since led a long and prolific solo career, rooted in melodic indie rock and raw emotion.Cover The Mirrors is a deeply poignant album, written in tribute to what would have been the 19th birthday of his son, Dorian Zev. It is also Kweller's first album since the tragic loss of Dorian in 2023 - an event that upended his life and his music. Far from retreating into himself, Kweller channels his grief into a collection of songs that explore loss, love, and renewal with heartbreaking honesty.The album brings together an impressive list of collaborators from the indie scene: Waxahatchee appears on Dollar Store, MJ Lenderman adds his touch to Oh Dorian, Jason Schwartzman revives his mid-2000s project Coconut Records for the poignant Depression; and the icons The Flaming Lips appear on the shimmering, dreamlike Killer Bee.
