Ben Granfelt’s 21st solo album, It's Personal, is quite special, especially at a time when few artists still release their albums on CD and vinyl, all the more so as it is a double CD and double LP combining studio and live material. On It's Personal, Ben plays guitar with no rules or restrictions. These are songs with riffs and different sonic textures. Of course, there are solos, but they always remain part of the songs rather than an excuse to stretch out endless music. “We recorded the basic tracks live in a large room with Masa Maijanen (bass) and Jari Salminen (drums). Then I locked myself in my home studio and took the time to record guitar tracks and create a sonic universe. I truly believe I’ve made something very special and personal that I’m really proud of.” Recorded during the 2024 tour for the anniversary album *Gratitude*—Ben’s tribute to Jeff Beck, Robin Trower and Gary Moore—it highlights the fact that no Ben Granfelt concert is ever the same.
