Four years after the release of his album The Rip Tide, Zach Condon, the tortured genius and leader of Beirut, returns with a new opus titled No No No. After numerous personal setbacks, Zach Condon began developing new tracks with his bandmates Paul Collins (bass) and Nick Petree (drums) in autumn 2014. While The Rip Tide had been almost entirely composed by Zach on Pro Tools, the recording of No No No was approached differently. The band locked themselves in the studio for two months, developing the tracks as the sessions progressed and Zach and the musicians contributed, primarily sticking to the basics of bass, drums, guitar, and piano. No No No, recorded in just two weeks during last winter's blizzard on the American East Coast, is a collection of nine tracks in the true 'Beirutian' tradition. Few surprises here, but we find immense pleasure in this unique melodious folk-pop that has captivated us for nearly a decade. Fans will not be disappointed!
