Transaction De Novo - Gold Vinyl

Description

The third and final album by the Texan slowcore masters Bedhead, Transaction De Novo (1998), sees the band destroy the sound they helped forge. The quintet no longer cares about volume or silence; they use distortion at will. Tempos increase at their discretion, chasing wave after wave with no respite in sight. The guitars, as dry as the desert, stir, sometimes almost jovially, weaving through songs without a chorus or bridge. Steve Albini's masterful ear keeps the overall sound clean for 37 minutes, allowing Matt Kadane's voice to rise above mere mumbling. Fortunately, it never does. Pressing on gold vinyl.
