Licensed To Ill

Description

An inseparable group from the great history of Hip-hop, the Beastie Boys made their mark with their eclecticism. Oscillating between Hip-hop, punk, and funk, the group established itself as one of the most important of its generation. Discover five of their greatest albums, reissued in 180-gram vinyl editions.
In The In Sound From Way Out (1996): The album features 12 instrumental tracks with an irresistible groove.
Licensed To Ill (1986): This album would explode onto the rap scene of the era, as the group integrated its punk rock influences into early New York Hip-hop. A true anthem to their city, 'Licensed To Ill' embodies the renewal of the young rap scene of the 80s. Find iconic anthems such as 'No Sleep Till Brooklyn' and 'Fight For Your Right'.
To The 5 Boroughs (2004): This album highlights the group's passion for their city. The title pays homage to the 5 boroughs that make up New York. For the group, it was a way to loudly proclaim their love for their metropolis, fresh from the 2001 terrorist attacks, but also an opportunity to strongly criticize the political decisions of then-President George W. Bush. Ranked number 1 upon its release, it is now certified platinum.
Beastie Boys Music: A compilation covering the group's almost 40-year career. 'Beastie Boys Music' features the group's classics. From 'Fight, for your Right' to the futuristic 'Intergalactic', as well as the essential 'No Sleep Till Brooklyn', 'Hey Ladies', and 'Sabotage'. This greatest hits faithfully retraces the epic journey of one of the most charismatic groups in New York Hip-hop.
Hot Sauce Committee Part 2: The group's last album. This was originally planned as a two-part release. The announcement of MCA's cancer completely questioned the release of the first part of the album, planned for 2009. Thus, the two planned parts were released as a single volume in April 2011. A true ode to the essence of original hip-hop, Hot Sauce Committee Part 2 offers a succession of rap tracks faithful to the Beastie Boys' New York vision of what a classic rap album should be. Notably, one of the Hip-hop bosses, Nas, makes a remarkable appearance on 'Too Many Rappers'.
