Another Beastie Boys bomb remastered by the band!!!! We listened to the new edition of “Paul's Boutique” and, like the fans, we loved the new version!! It hits hard!! Ill Communication is the fourth album by the Beastie Boys, released on May 23, 1994. It reached the top spot on the Billboard sales chart, repeating the feat accomplished by Paul's Boutique. Ill Communication was an immediate success in 1994, largely due to the music video accompanying the first single, Sabotage. The video, a parody of the Starsky and Hutch series, also helped launch the career of filmmaker Spike Jonze. Mixing hip-hop, sometimes punk, and more jazz sounds, a novelty compared to the two previous albums, the Beastie Boys also featured some guests on Ill Communication: Eric Bobo, Dave Navarro, and Tibetan monks!!! It was from this album that the Beastie Boys created the Milarepa Foundation, with the initial goal of paying royalties to the monks who were sampled on this record. Subsequently, an idea for a concert for Tibet was launched, leading to the first benefit concert of the Tibetan Freedom Concert series, in San Francisco in 1996.
