NEW 3-CD REMASTERED BOX SET FEATURING THE FIRST THREE ALBUMS BY BE-BOP DELUXE, ORIGINALLY RELEASED BETWEEN 1974 AND 1976. INCLUDING THE CLASSIC ALBUMS “AXE VICTIM”, “FUTURAMA” AND “SUNBURST FINISH”. INCLUDES AN ILLUSTRATED BOOKLET. Be-Bop Deluxe was born from the creative vision of Bill Nelson, one of the most creative and timeless British musicians. Thanks to the support of DJ John Peel (who had championed Bill Nelson’s work since the release of his rudimentary solo album “Northern Dream” in 1971), Be Bop Deluxe signed to EMI Records in 1974 and their first album, “Axe Victim”, was released in June of that year, featuring superb tracks such as “Adventures in a Yorkshire Landscape”, “Jets at Dawn” and “Darkness (L’Immoraliste)”. The album “Futurama”, released in 1975, saw a new lineup with the arrival of Charlie Tumahai on bass and Simon Fox on drums. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker (who also produced Queen’s “A Night at the Opera” the same year), the album marked a major creative step forward and includes legendary tracks such as “Maid in Heaven”, “Sister Seagull” and “Music in Dreamland”. Keyboardist Andy Clark joined the band at the time of the album’s release in July 1975. “Sunburst Finish”, released in February 1976, was one of Be Bop Deluxe’s most popular albums, both critically and commercially. Produced by Bill Nelson and John Leckie, the album included classics such as “Ships in the Night” (a UK hit), “Crying to the Sky”, “Life in the Air Age” and “Blazing Apostles”. This three-disc clamshell box set contains the albums “Axe Victim”, “Futurama” and “SunburstFinish”, as well as an illustrated booklet.
