La Paresse

Description

La Paresse, the sixth album by Bastien Lallemant, features ten new songs. Bastien sets out to tell the story of a couple through narratives in the form of short scenarios. The songs do not follow a single narrative; rather, it is a patchwork of stories borrowed from distinct films. The album is designed as a timeless journey, deeply intimate, at the heart of feelings, at the heart of this couple portrayed by Elisabeth Spettro and Bastien Lallemant. As with each of his records, Bastien invited musician friends, who are also singers and composers. Notably, JP Nataf, who produced the album and plays bass. Babx surrounded by a myriad of keyboard instruments, both acoustic and electronic, piano, synthesizers, Chamberlin, and also a saxophone. And Mocke, former guitarist of Holden, who has become a composer of remarkable instrumental records and founder of the band Midget. With La Paresse, Bastien embarks on a decidedly new path in many respects. The record results from a very long studio research process. Live recordings from previous albums have been abandoned. The instrumental aspect is more pronounced than ever, allowing for much freedom and rich musical digressions, full of surprises. The treatment of the voice is also new, carefully crafted, focusing on highlighting the performances of Elisabeth and Bastien as those of actors.
