Description

BR & CP's sound goes against the current, wisely taking the choppy path of sequences, nostalgic for filtered house, with French vocoders and "Brazilian funk" escapes, Balearic foot, Parisian basin club, Côte d'Azur beach bar, and disco transalpine. A flow of simple harmonies for sophisticated sounds. Original groove, cultural melting pot, island dream. Music of coasts and sides. Their beats: rhythms patterned after their successors, subsequent to their EP Cascades, in 2012, and their first album Navettes, in 2016. Funk is an album without guitars, 'clavinet' obsession, like Stevie's or Herbie's. The word funk, whose origin is to be found in perspiration, preferably from playing or dancing, but always the daughter of creative and emancipatory effort.
