Released in 1994, "Hex" is regularly hailed as one of the greatest albums of Post-Rock. Although conductor and singer Graham Sutton is known as a big fan of Talk Talk, this is probably the first thing that comes to mind upon the first play of 'Hex'. Bark Psychosis's debut album remains a captivating listen, blending ambient, dub, electronica, psychedelia, and even jazz into a musical experience. The album opens with "The Loom," a modular piece where a soft and melancholic refrain, wrapped in purring strings, collapses into an insatiably beautiful melody. There is a bittersweet beauty in songs like "A Street Scene" and "Eyes & Smiles." The album concludes with "Pendulum Man," nearly 10 minutes of ambiance.
