Revealed a few seasons ago thanks to the abrasive potential of its riffs, Bandit Bandit, the duo formed by Maëva and Hugo, imposes its distinctly unique musical style in France, as well as an insolent ease in handling the French language, thanks to their impressive debut album, 11:11. In 2019, there was the first concert, the first music video, the first studio sessions. The name Bandit Bandit was born during a photo shoot with a friend, in a desert-like setting, adorned with scarves, cowboy boots, and guns. As for the repetition, it serves to highlight the duality of the project, which quickly finds its audience, thanks to tracks as impactful as "Maux," the first written in French, and an imagery that leads the press to nickname them the Bonnie & Clyde of rock. After two electrifying EPs, Bandit Bandit and Tachycardie, the duo aimed to "look beyond rock" on 11:11, produced by Azzedine Djelil (Rita Mitsouko, Catherine Ringer, Minuit, Lulu Van Trapp…). They mix genres, cultivating the pop field in all its amplitude, with Maëva's voice as the common thread between raw rock and more sophisticated alternative. Until now self-centered and cathartic, Bandit Bandit's lyrics remain intimate on 11:11 while proving to be political, free from modesty, playing with words.
