Bag People were a Chicago band who quickly outgrew their city to be swallowed up in the maelstrom of the early 80s NYC post-punk/no-wave scene. They weren’t around long, but their compulsive noise-rock sound, exhumed from 40 year lost cassettes, feels very present and sits well next to the efforts of more well-known contemporaries such as Sonic Youth and Swans.
