Avee Mana delivers powerful, inventive, and melodic indie rock. On the border of Psychedelia / Garage / Pop, the Marseille-based band made a name for themselves with the EP Inner Life, which they performed on stage alongside Slift, Bryan’s Magic Tears, Thurston Moore, and at the last edition of Pointu Festival. Skillfully navigating stylistic labels, Avee Mana presents Layers, their debut album due for release on February 20, 2026, via Hazard Records and Howlin’ Banana. Following Inner Life, an EP noted in 2023 (Radio France, Tsugi, Libération’s Cahier Musique, Mowno, Quotidien...), Layers is its continuation and evolution. While remaining faithful to a raw and assertive rock sound, Avee Mana explores other soundscapes, and for them, psychedelia is above all a means to open up aesthetic horizons. Rémi's voice and Julien's airy guitars traverse these varied terrains without losing their essence. “Layers,” in English, refers both to the sonic layers accumulated in the studio and the strata that make up a personality, and in this album, Avee Mana manipulates both meanings. Faithful to rigorous work on sound textures without losing energy and spontaneity, their lyrics delve into questions of relationships, communicating emotions, masculinity, desire, vulnerability... It is also a reflection on the loss of meaning in everyday life, the limits and excesses of partying, and how to transform the cognitive overloads of the world we live in into something positive. Across the album’s 10 tracks, stripped-down folk guitars or saturated electric guitars coexist with Autotune and synthesizers. This is a position embraced by the band: “Layers is like a day in life. We go through dozens of different emotions, nothing is fixed, and we experience laughter, anger, calm, exhilaration, regrets... Our musical tastes, those of our loved ones, and the people who accompany us are truly rich and varied. Our music has always been well received by people from the punk scene, indie rock, or classic rock enthusiasts, and it appeals to people of various ages and backgrounds.
