THIS IS AUGUSTUS PABLO

Description

"This Is Augustus Pablo" was produced in 1973 at Studio Randy's by Clive Chin and Augustus Pablo. A pioneer of 70s Reggae, songwriter, composer, artist and producer, Augustus Pablo was born in 1954 in Jamaica and died in 1999. From the very beginning, he used the Melodica as the main instrument for his melodies. Pablo worked with a number of producers early in his career, including Lee Perry, Leonard Chin, Gussie Clarke and Bunny Stricker Lee. Pablo then launched a partnership with DubMaster King Tubby, whose mixes became the hallmark of many tracks, notably in the film "Rockers". Fulfilling his success, Pablo worked with Freddie McGregor, Big Joe, Horace Andy, Earl Sixteen, I-Roy, Joe Higgs, and Jacob Miller. Pablo's talent is particularly evident on the legendary album King Tubby Meet Rockers Uptown, one of the best Dub albums in the history of Reggae.
