This eighth studio album was recorded in South Minneapolis and Oakland, in tribute to the neighborhoods where Slug and Ant, the two members of the group, were born. As intimate as it is universal, “a sharp look at my life,” as Slug says in the lyrics, Southsiders is further proof of the group’s determination to push the boundaries of independent rap.
