Description

Formed in 1990 in Gothenburg, At The Gates established themselves as one of the pioneering groups of European melodic death metal. After four influential albums in the 90s, the band disbanded in 1996 before reuniting in 2007 for a series of international tours and new albums, further cementing their legacy. Through a unique blend of striking melodies, brutal riffs, and complex structures, At The Gates helped define the sound of the Gothenburg scene. Released in 1994, Terminal Spirit Disease, the band's third album, marks an evolution towards more direct and catchy songwriting, an approach that would later be fully developed on the classic Slaughter Of The Soul.
