The legendary English group Asian Dub Foundation is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year! The music of Asian Dub Foundation is a genre in itself. Their unique fusion of jungle rhythms, dub bass lines, wild guitars drawing from their South Asian roots, and militant rap has established them as one of the best live bands in the world. The story begins in the early 90s when ADF formed from a music workshop in East London at the institution that has remained their spiritual home ever since, Community Music. These beginnings shaped both their sound and their broader educational aspirations, as evidenced by the creation of their own educational organization ADF Education (ADFED) and their campaigns for victims of miscarriages of justice. Building a solid stage reputation in the mid-90s, they eventually made a name for themselves globally, sharing the stage with Rage Against The Machine, Radiohead, the Beastie Boys, and Primal Scream. On record, they have collaborated with Radiohead, Sinead O'Connor, Iggy Pop, Adrian Sherwood, and Chuck D. Furthermore, ADF is one of the first groups to seriously engage in film-concerts, starting with their reinterpretation of the soundtrack of the classic French film "La Haine" in 2001. In 30 years, Asian Dub Foundation has performed over 1,000 memorable shows around the world, released 9 studio albums, all more iconic than the last, alongside their social and educational activism, which is both the starting point of the group and what continues to sustain it today. This year, to celebrate the longevity of this unique project, Asian Dub Foundation is announcing a European tour for 2024-2025 with over 60 dates, as well as an album compiling some of their most iconic collaborations, "94-Now: Collaborations," set to be released on September 27, 2024.
