Like the film, this album still plays on the dichotomy of the dandy, even if the sexy Arto is much more present through ultra-elegant pop gems—the work of an extraordinary character, a link between Brian Eno and Antonio Carlos Jobim, between Caetano Veloso and John Zorn, who wanders through the streets of Rio de Janeiro, New York, Tokyo, Naples with the same peculiar gait, that kind and mischievous gaze behind his small round glasses. Cuidado Madame is a bold and striking offering, one of a full and inimitable range of textures, sounds, technology, melody, and poetry.
