Reissue of the cult album released in 1985 by the famous saxophonist ART PEPPER. Jazz in every direction, 5 times a day! That’s the dosage to follow with this album. Producer John Snyder had always wanted to record Pepper and booked him for a week at the Village Vanguard in New York. Pepper was then under contract with Contemporary Records, and the label boss, Les Koenig, decided to record the performances, thus destroying any idea Snyder had of doing it. However, Art promised Snyder that he would eventually record an album for Snyder’s Artists House label. Together, they ended up making four. Here, the original albums from these sessions are lovingly restored in their original form on vinyl and CD, remastered by Grammy winner Michael Graves, and recut by Jeff Powell. 'Stardust' (originally released in 1985) features Pepper’s recordings of the Hoagy Carmichael title track, Duke Ellington’s “In A Mellow Tone” and more.
