Seashell Angel Lucky Charms - Bottle Green Vinyl

Description

The Australian duo Armlock creates music to keep your head in the clouds. On their new album Seashell Angel Lucky Charm, Simon Lam and Hamish Mitchell take you on a steady ascent through compressed and paradisiacal sound realms. The band's second album, and their first for Run For Cover Records, showcases the experimental electronic roots of the songwriters through an indie rock lens. Without distortion or excess, Seashell Angel Lucky Charm is a collection of cohesive rhythms enhanced by clear guitar tones and eccentricities. With playful layers of vocal harmony and minimal arrangements, Armlock captures the inventive and straightforward essence of Pinback or Alex G. Unlike most indie rockers, Armlock uses the guitar as a tool rather than a vessel for songwriting. While their 2021 EP Trust laid the groundwork for a downtempo acoustic guitar, the evolution of Lam and Mitchell's writing demonstrates the ability of an electric guitar to amplify a song's groove or bring it into the sonic space.
