Description

Tony Williams, the iconic drummer of deconstructed jazz, would embody almost all of Miles Davis's masterpieces, with whom he debuted on 'Seven Steps To Heaven' in 1963, when he was barely 18 years old. A true rhythmic genius, Tony Williams quickly plunged into hard bop, then became an essential member of jazz fusion. While the drummer collaborated on very ambitious projects with big names like Herbie Hancock, Eric Dolphy, and Ron Carter, the virtuoso decided in 1965 to record his second solo album for Blue Note, 'Spring'. A masterpiece of a genre of jazz liberated from the classicism of certain musicians, Tony Williams released 'Spring' surrounded by Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Sam Rivers, and Gary Peacock.
