Slavic Folk Songs is a collection of polyphonic folk songs and spiritual songs from various Slavic regions performed by Ansis Bētiņš & Artūrs Čukurs, a newly formed duo in Riga, Latvia, based on oral traditions and melodies often without authors or composers. The songs were arranged by the duo for two voices and are performed a cappella, using various techniques characteristic of specific Slavic singing traditions, with a particular focus on Ukrainian songs. A path fraught with pitfalls, struggles, and misfortunes, but full of nostalgia, respite, fleeting moments of joy, and unwavering hope and love, all along the way.
