Intégrale des enregistrements Deutsche Grammophon (1978-1988)
Description
HERBERT VON KARAJAN’s collaborations with solo artists rarely went beyond a single recording project. The relationship he maintained with the German violinist Anne-Sophie Mutter is, in this respect, a major exception: she became his devoted partner in recording the major violin concertos for more than 10 years. The story of HERBERT VON KARAJAN’s discovery of ANNE-SOPHIE MUTTER has become legendary. In 1976, when she was only 13, she auditioned for the famous conductor. The maestro listened and literally fell for this young virtuoso. He invited her to perform in Salzburg under his direction the following year. Since then, and until Karajan’s death in 1989, ANNE-SOPHIE MUTTER was the only violinist to play with him, both in concert and on record. This 5-CD box set brings together all the concertos they recorded together for Deutsche Grammophon, from 1978 to 1988. A testament to a truly unique artistic collaboration.
