Recorded this summer at the Musikverein in Vienna to celebrate the 60th birthday of Anne-Sophie Mutter, the album presents the violinist with her handpicked ensemble of musicians, the Mutter's Virtuosi.For this new recording, they perform a program including Vivaldi's Concerto for Three Violins in F major, Bach's Violin Concerto in A minor and Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G major, Prévin's Nonet (2014), Joseph Bologne's Concerto in A major Op. 5 No. 2, as well as encores by Vivaldi (Summer from The Four Seasons) and John Williams (Schindler's List).For years, Anne-Sophie Mutter has performed with various scholarship students from her foundation to familiarize them with the life of a professional musician and to introduce them to a wider audience. In spring 2011, she launched the complementary project Mutter's Virtuosi: this ensemble, under the artistic direction of the violinist, is composed of former and current scholarship holders of the Anne-Sophie Mutter Foundation, as well as other selected young musicians.
