Clever Rabbits

Description

Recorded with Ethan Johns, a BRIT Award-winning producer (Paul McCartney, Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Ray Lamontagne), Ann's debut album, Clever Rabbits, explores the boundaries of imposed identity in a timeless, brave, and sensitive challenge to the current era. Inspired by the Chinese idiom "Clever rabbits need three burrows" and the imagery of three rabbits found in Devon churches and Chinese caves, Ann Liu Cannon weaves with integrity and precision Anglo-Celtic folklore, sacred texts, the sound binaries of modern digital synthesis, and her classical roots as a singer-songwriter. Clever Rabbits is a story told in her distinctive universe of elegant and quirky folk. For fans of Fiona Apple, Laura Marling, and Sufjan Stevens.
