Description

On knows the curiosity of the countertenor Andreas Scholl, one of the most awarded lyrical artists, and his taste for rare and precious musical objects. He reunites here with the lutenist Edin Karamazov to materialize the meeting between Havana and Leipzig, between contemporary Cuba and baroque Germany. Navigating from one to the other, the two musicians weave the fabric of a musical daydream in which Johann Sebastian Bach walks alongside the Cuban master Leo Brouwer, whose mixed works draw from folklore, Creole roots, dance, and the European scholarly heritage... And which wonderfully echo the chorales or the Suite for cello. The poetic and intimate instrumentation, with a lute full of transparency and the velvety timbre of Andreas Scholl, serves as the delicate setting for the muted and modest expression of the different faces of love.
