Far Out Recordings is reissuing two cult albums by Brazilian musician Ana Mazzotti, highly sought after on the second-hand market by genre enthusiasts and beyond. Nicknamed "super musician" by Brazilian virtuoso Hermeto Pascoal, Ana Mazzotti had a short but nonetheless very rich career with only two studio albums: Ninguem Vai Me Segurar (1974) and Ana Mazzotti (1977). Outside of Brazilian funk aficionado circles, these two gems of enchanting samba-jazz, lysergic funk and trippy bossa remained relatively obscure, yet recognized for their quality. In 1977, Mazzotti returned to the studio for a second album after a first version was distributed in a limited way. With re-recorded vocals, new arrangements and a new track, Ana Mazzotti delivers here a refreshed version of her talent, considered a jewel of Brazilian music.
