Ameretat

Description

Ameretat is a duo formed by S and K, children of the Iranian diaspora, whose family is scattered across several borders. Their music draws from Iranian traditions while colliding with the raw energy of crust and hardcore. The saturations and feedback evoke regional drone instruments, while also recalling the anarcho-punk urgency of Rudimentary Peni and the desperate heaviness of Union of Uranus and Dystopia. By blending ancient and modern forms, the project addresses themes of war, power, love, despair, and kindness, through lyrics in Persian, Avestan, Lori, Kurdish, and English. The result is a sound filled with intensity, rooted in ancestral heritage yet resolutely forward-looking.
