Alva Noto - Wave Weave - Sono Obi is the soundtrack by Alva Noto, composed for a film by Carsten Nicolai. This project was born from a collaboration with a kimono maker in Kyoto, Japan, continuing a twelve-generation family tradition. The work explores the translation of sound into textile: sonograms of musical compositions serve as the basis for woven structures, linking acoustic frequency patterns to traditional weaving techniques. In addition to the soundtrack, this edition includes an alternative version and photographic documentation presenting sonograms, visualizations of the soundtrack, and images taken from the film.
