Alva Noto - Wave Weave - Sono Obi is the soundtrack by Alva Noto, composed for a film by Carsten Nicolai. This project was born from a collaboration with a kimono maker in Kyoto, Japan, continuing a twelve-generation family tradition. The work explores the translation of sound into textile: sonograms of musical compositions serve as the basis for woven structures, linking acoustic frequency patterns to traditional weaving techniques.
