The relatively short career of Aluminum, a band from San Francisco, has so far produced a single (Spinning Backwards, 2020) and an EP (Windowpane, 2022), but their debut album, Fully Beat, overflows with confidence and a unique style that skillfully combines shoegaze, big beat, and jangle pop. With influences ranging from Orbital to Wipers, as well as The Avalanches and Sly and the Family Stone, it offers a multifaceted approach to established genres, infused with fuzz and led by the sweet vocal harmonies of Marc Leyda (from Wild Moth) and Ryann Gonsalves (from Torrey), veterans of the San Francisco post-punk scene.
