IN SEARCH OF A DREAM

Description

In tribute to Alphonse Mouzon, the New York Times quoted one of his finest statements: “Because I am open-minded, I do not want to be identified only as a jazz drummer.” And he was right to believe it; today he has as many rock fans as jazz fans who appreciate his music. Rare are the artists who have had such a natural understanding of both genres. Between polyrhythmic jazz and rock beats, Mouzon knew how to cultivate this long-awaited melting pot with virtuosity and flair. And it was with the help of his accomplices Miroslav Vitous (bass), Joachim Kühn (piano/keyboard) and Philip Catherine (guitarist), all elite in their field, that he was able to record In Seach Of A Dream and make it a jazz-rock fusion gem. For fans of: Billy Cobham - Lenny White - Tony Williams.
