MONEY & POWER

Description

A new gem discovered by the RUF Records label, Ally Marie Venable is only 24 years old! A guitarist, composer, and singer from Texas, she was voted Best Female Blues Guitarist of the Year in 2014, 2015, and 2016 by the ETX Music Awards. Her first album, released in 2016, charted at number 16 on the Blues Charts. Her second album, released in 2017, reached number 7 on the Billboard Chart Blues Album. Ally Venable, born on April 7, 1999, in Kilgore, Texas, is an American blues rock guitarist, singer, and songwriter. She and her band, the Ally Venable Band, were respectively voted "Female Guitarist of the Year" at the East Texas Music Awards in 2014 and 2015, and "Blues Band of the Year" in 2015 and 2016. Ally Venable sang in church from the age of 4, discovered the guitar at 12, and was only 14 when "Wise Man," her first 7-track album, was released. Her third album, "No Glass Shoes," released by Connor Ray Music, peaked at number 16 on the RMR Electric Blues Charts in 2016. She is featured as one of America's Blue's Scene's essential artists under 30. Her fourth album, "Puppet Show," entered the Billboard blues album sales chart at number 7. The album "Texas Honey" was released in 2019 (number 2 on the Billboard Blues Chart). Her 8th album is released today with international distribution. And the 4th on the RUF label. Having spent the last decade carving out a unique place in the male-dominated world of blues-rock, Ally Venable's combative sixth album, "Money & Power," demands more of both - for herself, for women worldwide, and for all others who thought they didn't deserve a seat at the table. Recorded in Nashville, where Ally's crack band is joined by prominent guests Shemekia Copeland and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram. Currently, in the wake of "Real Gone," a critically acclaimed album in 2023 that reached number one on the Billboard Blues Charts and was still in contention a year later, Ally is ranked among the best young American roots singer-songwriters, praised by Total Guitar Magazine in its poll of the 100 best blues guitarists. "With her heels, her glitter, and her growling Les Paul on a leash, she is one of Ruf's most striking young artists," Classic Rock wrote, "and while instrumental prowess can be taken for granted, "Real Gone" marks a growing maturity in the Texan's songwriting."
