ALL THEM WITCHES is a band with a genre that is hard to classify, hailing from Nashville (Tennessee). An ideal place to forge a hybrid sound that ranges from blues to space rock, including psychedelic rock or hard rock with some elements of stoner and Celtic rock. As mysterious as the title of this third album may seem, Dying Surfer Meets His Maker follows the path laid out in the last two albums of the band with something intangible added. This dive seems at first glance less perilous than the previous ones, more structured and rich in acoustic instruments. ALL THEM WITCHES allow themselves to delve into the calm parts without renouncing their tempestuous heavy sound sections symbolized by an omnipresent drum and bass when necessary, all accompanied by a guitar delivering as much reverb as fuzz or distortion. Dying Surfer Meets His Maker is just as poignant as it is refreshing.
