Alice returns in force with Châteaux Faibles, their second album on Bongo Joe Records: a vibrant art-pop work about fragility, resilience, and the collective strongholds we strive to build in troubled times. Working once again with producer and sound artist David Stampfli, the Geneva trio made up of Lisa Harder, Yvonne Harder and Sarah André infuses its polyphonic vignettes and stripped-back synthetic melodies with a touch of musique concrète and a DIY ethic, enriched by sounds gathered from “real life” and body percussion such as feet striking the ground. Working in theater and film, the three artists draw their aesthetic from these stage practices, celebrating the raw power of the voice, especially in a cappella moments.
