Une grande chose

In her third album, Une grande chose, a sort of immense maze, one can successively encounter metaphysical enigmas, introspections a thousand miles away from the ego trips that delight the charts, a constant and haunting back-and-forth between the real and the imaginary, between sad Bossa nova (Souris-moi), wild electro-pop (Petit animal), fun and groovy ballads (Les copines), childlike waltzes (Berceuse), or even a seminal English piano-voice piece (Grow) worthy of a musical. Music in all its emotional palette. Only a songwriter in complete mastery of her art can offer such a range of styles and thematic variations. Like a wolf howling at the moon, Al.Hy vocally "delivers," she undergoes her catharsis, she expresses herself, in this new opus, for all the sensitive souls who would like to do so themselves. No matter how much, like her, we "live in the Moon and don’t understand people," what is certain is that she is in total connection with human Nature. Clearly not with the winner and selfie-addicted generation, but with those lunar beings, sensitive (see the eponymous title, a true potential hit). These lost Little Princes, these disoriented and vulnerable aliens wandering on Earth in search of their mysterious origin. For sure, we are far from the values of the moment. And so? The greatest artists of French song (Barbara, Aznavour...), who are also the authors and composers of almost all their work, immobile travelers and globe-trotters of the human soul, have always known: it is better to be out of sync with your time and on time for your appointment with the hearts of Men.
