On the occasion of the launch of its new label "Audible Beauty," Habibi Funk is releasing a series of previously unreleased albums from the Malaysian national jazz radio RTM. This will be followed by a promotional series with FIP, France Musique, Jazz mag, and Jazz News around this creation and its initial releases. These editions include detailed notes, previously unseen archival photographs tracing the lives and legacies of the artists, as well as a gatefold vinyl accompanied by a 40-page booklet with in-depth essays and historical documents. This release is a major collection that chronicles the history of Malaysian jazz and highlights the works of the legendary composer, arranger, and pianist Alfonso Soliano. The recordings, originally made for Radio Television Malaysia (RTM), were only published in very limited runs intended for radio broadcast. Today, they are widely regarded as essential and foundational documents of Malaysian music. Soliano develops a unique musical language, blending jazz, Latin influences, and traditional Malaysian musical forms, creating a sound that is deeply identity-driven and innovative. The sessions also bring together several key figures from the Malaysian music scene of the time, including Johari Salleh and Ahmad Nawab. This compilation is particularly aimed at fans of Salah Ragab, Ahmed Malek, Mulatu Astatke, Dollar Brand, and other visionary artists.
