SCURO CHIARO comes from a place that thrives on life's constant variations, simultaneously presenting perplexity and vulnerability through dark hues and vibrant synthetic structures. This beautiful new album is awash with analog synth pads and vast expanses of reverberation. The album's title is inspired by the term for strongly contrasting light and shadows in painting and other visual arts, which Alessandro Cortini reflects throughout this new album. There is great volatility in SCURO CHIARO, and yet, its intention is to become meditative in the face of oppositions and inconsistencies. Its masterfully composed tracks reflect this, in part and in whole.
