Two years after the highly acclaimed release of her self-titled debut album on the cult label Flying Nun Records, the New Zealand singer is back with a second opus this time on the label 4AD.
Originally from Lyttelton, a port village in New Zealand, the young songwriter, singer, and guitarist blends delicate folk with lyrics of gentle melancholy. And there is that voice that characterizes her so much, an incisive and haunting voice.
For this new album, the singer did not hesitate to distance herself, leaving her native New Zealand for Bristol where she recorded alongside the illustrious John Parish (Pj Harvey, Sparklehorse,…)
We will also note the presence of Mike Hadreas (Perfume Genius) on two tracks of the album, Imaging My Man (her new single) as well as Swell Does The Skull.
With Party, there is no doubt that Aldous Harding delivers a great album that should propel her career to new heights.
