Alden Hellmuth is an "extraordinary" saxophonist, improviser, and composer (In & Out Jazz) based in New York. Her new project, Tether, propels an acoustic jazz quartet with two basses into unprecedented and captivating sound territories. With two of the most inventive and daring bassists from Los Angeles, Logan Kane and Miller Wrenn, and renowned drummer Justin Brown delivering a remarkable performance, this group pushes the boundaries of music. Hellmuth, a graduate of the Herbie Hancock Institute, with a strong compositional vision and stunning virtuosity, has carefully and creatively shaped a new sound universe, equally at home in a jazz festival as in a punk rock concert.
