The Naarm/Melbourne trio Acopia returns on September 12 with Blush Response, their third album and first release on Scenic Route. This 8-track LP reveals them to be more open and assertive than ever, balancing melancholic introspection with newfound clarity. Formed in 2018 by Kate Durman, Lachlan McGeehan, and Morgan Wright, Acopia has evolved from a minimalist palette to a more fluid and expressive sound, blending dream pop, downtempo, indie, and post-punk. Following Chances (2022) and their self-titled album (2023), the band has been praised by Pitchfork, The Guardian, The FADER, and The Beat, and has shared the stage with Bar Italia and Tirzah, as well as at the Golden Plains, Rising, and NTS Naarm festivals. Supported by British producer Daniel Avery, Acopia presents with Blush Response their most ambitious project: a sincere and expansive record that marks the beginning of a new era, already acclaimed by critics and a growing international audience.
