Accessory is the solo project of Chicago-based songwriter and multidisciplinary artist, Jason Balla (of Dehd). His work explores the conflict between optimism and melancholy, approaching their seemingly infinite weight with perspective and grace. He highlights their correspondence through stunning and intricate melodic experiences, mirroring the tension between the natural and digital worlds. His debut album, *Dust*, is a meeting point between the celestial and the molecular. Angels, shooting stars, and lightning converse with blood, serotonin, and calcium. In a time when suffering is live-streamed and widespread apathy reigns, Balla composed these songs to bring order to the world, to reach the very essence of humanity, to tame decline, for himself and for all who feel the pain of pessimism and despair.
